Ministry Philosophy

Here at Grace Point Church, we Think Orange! There are two very powerful influences in kids’ lives – the church (yellow for light) and the home (red for love). They both exist because God initiated them. They both exist because God desires to to use them to demonstrate His plan of redemption and restoration. If we work together we can potentially make a greater impact than if we work alone. We need each other….too much is at stake for either one to fail. The combination of these two influences creates a whole new effort to fuel faith in the next generation – ORANGE! Our primary task is to build God’s kingdom in the hearts of men and women, sons and daughters.

KID NATION IS OUR WEEKLY MINISTRY designed just for kids Kindergarten through 5th grade. We know that kids are naturally designed to explore and learn new things every day. That’s why we want Kid Nation to be a safe place where kids can discover God’s BIG story, his ultimate plan to come and rescue them, and how THEIR story is part of HIS story! Our ultimate goal in KID Nation is to partner with parents to help kids Know God, Illuminate Jesus to others, and Discover biblical truth.

We meet on Sunday mornings (while parents are in Big Church) in the Student Center Warehouse for a high-energy, large group worship time with games, music & teaching. After a large group experience, we further explore the Bible story for that week in small groups*. This time is designed for kids to build community with each other and with their small group leaders. Small group leaders are passionate teachers who not only want to have fun with the kids, but also lead them to apply the story to their every day life. After small group is over, our leaders pass out weekly devotionals that kids and parents can do together to re-emphasize the lesson from Sunday.

*Our small groups are based on the Bentonville Public

School Calendar. Children are assigned to the same class for the entire year.

At Grace Point Church, we use the 252 Basics Curriculum to help each child discover and embrace a relationship with Jesus. By the time a child leaves Kid Nation, they will have learned 150 bible stories, 30 Life Applications and 3 Core Truths. They will learn these three things: I need to make the wise choice (wisdom); I can trust God no matter what (faith); and I should treat others the way I want to be treated (friendship) based off of Luke 2:52 which says, “Jesus grew in wisdom and stature, and in favor with God and men.” (NIV)

ALL our elementary children are learning the same story each week, but at their individual level. Throughout the curriculum, parents will receive guides to help seal in God’s truths that their children have been learning about on Sunday morning. Sometimes these are sent home with the children, but they are also available on our GP Kids Facebook page. We strive to make it as easy as possible for parents to review the lesson at home during the week.

Each month we will introduce a new scripture passage for Bible Memory. “I have stored up your word in my heart, that I might not sin against you.” Psalm 119:11

Stay connected to what the kids are learning! Download the “Parent Cue” app on your iPhone or iPad! It includes all the stories, videos, and music that we use on Sundays so you can keep the conversation going!

Check-in Procedure

We desire to maintain a secure environment for our children. When you arrive at our ministry campus, you will be asked to register your child (ages birth to 5th grade) and any information you want us to know about allergies, medical alerts, and more.

Our trained personnel will check your child in through our electronic security program. Each child will receive a stickered tag that has a unique security code on it, their name, their classroom, and any of the information about your child you wished to disclose such as allergies, medical alerts, etc.

You will receive a receipt that only has the unique security code of the child and the date of the event. In the case you are checking in more than one child, a single security code is used for all children so you do not have to juggle multiple receipts.

Should you be needed during the Worship Service, your number will appear on a screen in the auditorium. When picking up your child from the classroom, you will be asked to give the corresponding number to the child’s teacher.
