Accessability

to make the Gospel accessible to people of all abilities

Our mission

AccessAbility exists to make the Gospel accessible to all people, knowing that they are fully able to know God, love people, and live sent. We know that the Gospel is for everyone, Jesus is for everyone, but we recognize church can be an overwhelming place!

So, we want to make the Gospel accessible through facilitating a safe, comfortable, and fun environment for individuals to be in community with each other and learn about Jesus. In turn, our kids and students go out and make the Gospel accessible to all people in their community with the unique gifts God has given them.

Prek-Preteen

We support kids who are experiencing disability or would benefit from having additional support in PreK-6th grade on Sunday mornings during the 9:10 & 10:45 gatherings. A unique plan will be created for every child on the space where they will learn about Jesus best. This can happen in one of our sensory rooms with an adapted lesson and a trained volunteer, or in GPKids with a trained volunteer and any sensory supports needed.

Jr. High & High school

We want to encourage genuine relationships between our Jr. High & High School students who are experiencing disability and walk with them in how they can have a personal relationship with Jesus. We do this on Sunday mornings through a Bible study during the 9:10 gathering in one of our sensory rooms. Students are also encouraged to attend GPStudents on Wednesday nights.

Adults

We encourage all adults to attend our main worship gatherings at 9:10 and 10:45 on Sunday mornings with the rest of the Grace Point family! There are noise-cancelling headphones, sensory kits, and visual schedules available in our worship center if needed. We also have a quiet room in our gallery that livestreams service.

Ask about joining a community group to be part of during the week too! We have many options, including our AccessAbility Beyond group for adults experiencing disability 18 years and older. For more information, please contact our AccessAbility Director, Ginny Davis, by emailing ginny@gracepointchurch.net

RESPITE NIGHTS (recess)

AccessAbility partners with a local organization (99 Balloons) to host monthly respite nights at GPC for kids who are experiencing disability and their siblings who are 17 and under. rEcess seeks to change the story of disability - this night gives parents some time away to rest and recharge, for their kids and their siblings to have a night of fun and be in community, and for all people to be in relationship with each other and have a night to get to know each other better.
