Welcome to Day 3!!
Look at us ladies.
We.Are.Killing.it. So, let’s keep it up and jump into today’s scripture!
“Let there be light.” Genesis 1:3
Four little words, but boy they pack the power! It was true when God first spoke them in Genesis 1:3, and it’s true when His children say them today. As I mentioned in the video, I had a friend several years ago share that she often prayed this scripture to God, and I was thinking, really, what for? But I tell you, this prayer has been so instrumental for me as a mom.
I will never forget the first time I prayed it. It wasn’t long after my friend had shared it with me. I was sitting out front of my house cleaning our RV, and this was a point in our lives when life was a bit intense. I got a phone call where I knew someone was concealing something that was having a huge impact on my kid’s lives. I sat there crying, my anxiety at a ten, I remembered the words of my friend, “Let there be light.” So, I closed my eyes and whispered, “God, please let there be light in this situation. You love my kids even more than me. Please show up as only You can and protect them. Father, do what You are famous for.” God answered that prayer. He did show up in a crazy amazing way, and I will never ever forget it!
I have said that prayer many times since in different situations, and ladies, this prayer is one that you can say and know our God used it to command the sun to shine, and we can use it for the Son to shine down in our lives and our kid’s lives.
When you know there is something going on in your child’s life, but you don’t know what it is. “Let there be light!”
When you see regret, heaviness, or anxiousness in the eyes of your child, but they are closed off to you. “Let there be light, God!”
Your child is making a big decision, and they are struggling…... get on your knees and ask God to remove any darkness influencing their decision, where the only thing they can see is His light.
A situation comes up where your child is being accused of something or is being seen in a way that doesn’t capture the truth of what has happened, ask God to let there be light, so the person in authority can see what is true.
Perhaps you find yourself in a hard place with your child where you are needing to make a decision, but your fears, your past hurts and experiences are weighing you down and muddying up your thinking. Ask God to, “Let there be light.” To remove any clouded thinking so you can see clearly, with His perspective, and make a wise decision.
There are just endless ways to use this scripture. I must pause here and say, it’s important to remember, God’s timing is not always immediate, and His answer doesn’t always look like what we would have hoped, but we can ALWAYS trust Him. He is God; we are not. Our only job is to be faithful in praying and faithful in believing that He is good, and He will answer in His good time.
I would love to pray alongside of you, ladies. Is there any place in your child’s life where you need this prayer, “Let there be light,” answered? If you’re willing to share, please know I would be honored to join you in praying. Just shoot me a text at (479) 888-8284.
