Welcome to Day 5
Let’s jump in!
Ladies, I looked at so many scriptures for today, and I’m picking one that just puts us at the feet of Jesus. As you could probably tell from the video, this topic brings a slew of emotion for me. As I shared, God and I went through a personal journey. He showed me how I had been looking at the deepest hurts of my life through the twisted lens of the enemy, leaving me to feel worthlessness and shame I literally thought I would die with, and I thought I deserved to die with.
So, when God opened my eyes to how the enemy is doing that same thing to my kids, taking the hurts of their life, and trying to make them into their twisted identity…… well, the amount of passion and drive I have for them to not walk that same path is endless. And ladies, the enemy is trying to do the same with your children. We must remember though; God is on our side! Now, I have learned that there will be days, even seasons, when we will feel like they/we are losing this battle, but here is a spoiler alert, God.Will.Win.The.War.
Remember that ladies, and on days when you are discouraged, remember it again!
This subject makes me hold onto God tightly, to take a new grip with my tired momma hands.
Let’s go to Him and pray with all that we have, that our children will see themselves and any life hurts through God’s eyes, that they hear and hold onto what is on His heart for them. That they will grow stronger and stronger in
God’s love and grace and light.
Scripture For Today
“You light a lamp for me. The Lord, my God, lights up my darkness. In Your strength I can crush an army; with my God I can scale any wall. God’s way is perfect. All the Lord’s promises prove true. He is a shield for all who look to Him for protection. For who is God except the Lord? Who but our God is a solid Rock? God arms me with strength, and He makes my way perfect. He makes me as surefooted as a deer, enabling me to stand on mountain heights. He trains my hands for battle; He strengthens my arm to draw a bronze bow. You have given me Your shield of victory. Your right hand supports me; Your help has made me great. You have made a wide path for my feet to keep them from slipping.” Psalm 18:28-36
Example Prayers
Praying Psalm 18:28-36 first for me as a mom standing in the gap for my children
God, You light a lamp for me, and I am following Your light with all that I have. I feel like I fail at this so many times, and yet when I find my way back, Your light still lights up my darkness, just as You promised. In Your strength I can crush an army; with You, my God I can scale ANY wall!! Your way -- it is perfect, and all Your promises, Father, prove true. I am looking to you for My protection and my children’s protection, and You are our mighty shield!! For who is God except You Lord? Who but our God is a solid Rock? God, I close my eyes and see You arming me with strength and KNOW that You will make my way and my children’s way perfect. I feel so out of control, but I am not, because You make me as surefooted as a deer, enabling me to stand on mountain heights. Father trains my hands for battle; show me, teach me, and continue to strengthen my arm to draw a bronze bow against all the attacks of the enemy. He does not stand a chance against us together!!! You have given me Your shield of victory, and I refuse to let it go. Your right hand, it supports me, and I want the enemy to cower in fear at it. Your help has made me great. You have made a wide path for my feet to keep them from slipping, and I will walk in that knowledge and claim it as your daughter.”
Praying Psalm 18:28-36 over my children
Example 1
Father God, You, light a lamp for my children! Any darkness that has come into their lives or may come -- shine Your light on it pushing the enemy and his lies out! And, Father I pray that You do it quickly. May the enemy have no more time in my children’s minds. He has no place there! May they walk in Your strength, and through that strength crush any thought or false identity set against them. May they scale any wall of lies in their way that is meant to trip them up. Expose those lies to them, Father, for Your way is perfect and Your promises prove true. Continue to protect them with Your shield, as they look to You for that protection. For who is God except, You, Lord? Who but You God is a solid Rock? Father, arm them with strength in the face of their enemy, and make their ways perfect. Speak truth into their lives making them as surefooted as a deer, enabling them to stand on mountain heights. Train them and help train me as their mom for the battle being waged for their thoughts and their mind. Strengthens their arm to draw a bronze bow against anything false the enemy wants to speak into their lives. You have given them Your shield of victory, and I pray they wield it with all that they have in You. Your right hand supports them and has made them great. My children are Your children, and may they never forget they are covered by Your love and grace. You have made a wide path for their feet to keep them from slipping. Thank You, God!”
Example 2 For Moms Whose Children May Not be Walking Closely With God
Almighty God, You light a lamp for my children.
You, The Lord, their God, can light up any darkness they have allowed in their heart and mind. You see it, Father, please show them and exchange it for Your truth! You are their Heavenly Father, and in Your strength, they can crush an army; they can scale any wall. Your way is perfect, and all Your promises prove true giving the enemy no authority in their lives! Father, You are their shield when they look to You for protection. I know they aren’t all looking for You right now, but I am as their mom, and I am here standing in the gap for them, and I am calling on You as my God to cover my children. Father, may they fix their eyes back on You. Awaken them to Your Power! For who is God except, You Lord? Nothing but You God is a solid Rock, remind them of this truth! God, arm my kids with Your strength and make their way perfect. I pray you make them as surefooted as a deer, enabling them to stand on mountain heights. Train their hands for battle, strengthen their arms to draw a bronze bow against the enemy and his ways. You have given them Your shield of victory, may they be reminded of this and use it with all they have as Your right hand supports them and makes them great. Thank you, Father, that You have made a wide path for their feet to keep them from slipping.” Psalm 18:28-36
