Stepping into the future

How we're navigating a season of transition at Grace Point Church

our Direction

At Grace Point Church, we believe we are on the edge of an exciting new chapter. Over the past two years, God has led us to a renewed passion for discipleship and a clarified pathway to becoming holistic disciples of Jesus who are abiding in God’s Word, loving one another, and bearing fruit.

We like to say it like this: Together, we have an unyielding pursuit to be a church of disciples who make disciples from Northwest Arkansas to the Nations. (Click Here to learn more about where we're heading)

We are so grateful to build this new season of ministry upon a firm foundation. Planted by Mike and Lori McDaniel in 2001, Grace Point has been a church passionate both for God’s word and for global missions. After 23 years of faithful ministry, Mike announced his resignation May 19, 2023. We are thankful for the investment both Mike and Lori made in the lives so many people both here in NWA and around the world.

Lead Teaching Pastor search

We are actively in a search process for a lead teaching pastor. The lead teaching pastor’s primary role as an elder in making disciples who make disciples is to lead through biblically rich, text-driven preaching while ensuring doctrinal integrity. They will collaborate with elders to guide the church's spiritual direction, vision, and long-term planning, while providing pastoral care. By demonstrating the centrality of the gospel, they'll mentor and counsel, equipping the congregation for ministry and disciple-making. You can learn more about this role by visiting gracepointchurch.net/pastor.

The elder team has prayed through and discussed how best to have prayerful and wise discernment as we cull through resumes, perform interviews, and seek to determine God’s will for us in this next season of ministry. We know that Scripture tells us that there is wisdom in a multitude of counselors. For that reason, we have developed a process that will lean into the wisdom and discernment of many of our members, staff, along with our elders.

The overall search process will be led by 4 teams with specific responsibilities:

  1. Core Team: the primary team to manage applicant processes from initial screening to referral to the elder team for consideration.
  2. Interview Teams: we will have 2 interview teams who will provide feedback that will help the core team determine if the applicant should move forward.
  3. Review Teams: after a second interviews, this team will review all shared documentation, resources, and the recorded interviews to provide a next level of feedback to the core team for consideration.
  4. Elder Team: based on the referrals from the core team, will conduct final interviews, assessments, reference checks and the determination of who to present to the church for a vote of affirmation per our church constitution.

We have currently received over 75 applicants for the position and are incredibly thankful that we continue to receive several new applicants each week.

Our Leadership

Grace Point Church is led by a great team of elders and staff. At Grace Point, the Elders are ultimately responsible to shepherd the flock that is amongst them (1 Pet 5:2) under the guidance of Jesus Christ, leading them through the work of the Holy Spirit and the Scriptures. Our elder team is made up of three staff elders (including future teaching pastor) along with 6-8 lay elders.

We have five primary ministry areas led by our Pastoral Ministry Leads. Those five areas are: Community and Member Engagement, Family Discipleship, Adult Discipleship, Worship, and Operations. Each ministry area has varying numbers of team members of additional pastors and support staff.

Our Trustee Board consists of 6 lay members who govern the financial stewardship of Grace Point Church. Operating from a position of ministry-minded faithfulness, these men and women seek to steward the resources given to the church in the most effective and impactful way possible. Our Trustees set and approve budgets, manage cash flow, maintain reserves, and shape policy for financial accountability. The Trustees report to the Elders.

Brett Ferguson, Interim Teaching Pastor

In November, we officially named Brett Ferguson as our Interim Teaching Pastor at Grace Point Church. Brett and his wife, Rachel, are dedicated members of Grace Point and are serving our church body in an incredible way. Brett will preach regularly on Sunday mornings as well as lead our Preaching Team.

The GPC Preaching Team exists to share the load of preparing, writing, and delivering our sermons. This team meets regularly to discuss the series, bounce questions and thoughts off of one another, and evaluate previous sermons.
