In Partnership with New Day Orphanage

New Day Orphanage

One in every five kids in Zambia is an orphan, mainly due to poverty and AIDS. In fact, 52 million orphans, or 30 percent of all the orphans worldwide, live in the 54 countries in Africa. The crisis is epidemic.

Wes and Laurie Wilcox and Blue and Darbi Tidwell began New Day Orphanage in 2010 to address the crisis. They founded New Day on three pillars:
1) Provide the children with a Christian worldview.
2) Provide the children with a quality education.
3) Retain the children’s Zambian culture.

Their goal continues to be to raise up Christian, educated Zambians to reach their country and the world for Jesus Christ.

Upcoming Trips

Late September/Early october

Team size: 12-18
Estimated Trip Cost: $2475

New Day Orphanage has been impacting the lives of Zambian children for over fourteen years. Their goal is to raise up educated, Christian Zambians to reach their country and the world for Christ. The wear and tear of everyday life, however, has left the New Day facilities in need of some repairs and maintenance. The opportunities are many so if you are a handy person and have a heart to serve, we’d love for you to join the team.  We are also exploring other ministry opportunities so if you’re not handy but still have a heart to serve, let us know.

Trip members will need to have skillsets that align with the ministry opportunities. New Day is located in rural Zambia and is somewhat isolated. There is a nice facility called the Ark that the team will be staying in with hot water and meals prepared by the New Day staff. In late September the temperatures will be 85-100 degrees in the daytime and 65-75 degrees at night.

Group pre-trip meetings are required before the trip.
