Scripture
And if Christ has not been raised, then our preaching is in vain and your faith is in vain. We are even found to be misrepresenting God, because we testified about God that he raised Christ, whom he did not raise if it is true that the dead are not raised. For if the dead are not raised, not even Christ has been raised. And if Christ has not been raised, your faith is futile and you are still in your sins. Then those also who have fallen asleep in Christ have perished. If in Christ we have hope in this life only, we are of all people most to be pitied.
But in fact Christ has been raised from the dead, the firstfruits of those who have fallen asleep. For as by a man came death, by a man has come also the resurrection of the dead. For as in Adam all die, so also in Christ shall all be made alive. (1 Corinthians 15:14-22 ESV)
For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God, not a result of works, so that no one may boast. (Ephesians 2:8-9 ESV)
And by that will we have been sanctified through the offering of the body of Jesus Christ once for all.
And every priest stands daily at his service, offering repeatedly the same sacrifices, which can never take away sins. But when Christ had offered for all time a single sacrifice for sins, he sat down at the right hand of God, (Hebrews 10:10-12 ESV)

Devotional
What we believe about Jesus is the single most important decision we will ever make.
We’ve spent the last week examining a number of different perspectives of who Jesus is. For some who encountered him, he was a means to an end. For others, he was a way out. Some thought Jesus was lying or a lunatic.
But as we see the perspectives of one of the thieves on the cross, the Roman centurion, and Mary Magdalene, Jesus is Lord. He is God in the fleshed who stepped down to earth to save us from our sin. He lived a sinless life, died a perfect death, and was raised to life again. And because of the work of Jesus, we are free from the penalty of sin and are brought back into right relationship with the God of the universe.
Because of Jesus we have hope, even in our darkest moments. He is the light in the darkness.
But we must turn to him, repent of our brokenness, and accept him as Lord.
